Overall, you can't go wrong with any of the racquets from the Head tennis racquet range. I thoroughly enjoyed using all of them, with the Head Extreme being my personal favourite. The summary below provides a brief overview of the Head racquet range. If you're interested in purchasing any of these racquets from us, feel free to come and demo them!
Head Radical - Best all-around
Head Extreme - Best for spin with a soft feel
Head Boom - Best for power
Head Gravity - Best for forgiveness with the largest sweet spot
Head Prestige - Best for precision with a small sweet spot
Head Radical:
Power: 4.6/5
After trying the Head Radical, it offers a solid feel with decent power. If you're looking for more zip to your shots, I'd recommend racquets like the Head Boom.
Spin: 4.6/5
Similar to the power rating, the racquet allows for decent spin generation. If you want a racquet providing a solid, consistent feel to your shots, this is the one for you. Other alternatives for more spin include the Head Extreme.
Control/Touch: 4.7/5
Having used this racquet for a while, I love the feel and control it provides, especially around the net. Another suggestion for feel and control is the Head Extreme.
Head Extreme:
Power: 4.3/5
After trying the Head Extreme, my honest review is that it's catered for players looking for spin and a soft feel. Compared to other Head racquets, it has less power. However, it generates more than enough. For more power, I'd recommend the Head Boom or Head Gravity.
Spin: 4.9/5
A major perk of this racquet is the amount of spin you can generate, and it also provides excellent spin control. Hitting heavy topspin balls from the baseline is highly effective with this racquet.
Control/Touch: 4.8/5
This racquet excels in spin control and, combined with its soft feel, offers excellent control. Out of the Head range, it has the best control and feel.
Head Gravity:
Power: 4.9/5
This is a forgiving racquet with a large sweet spot. It's no wonder why players like Alexander Zverev and Andrey Rublev use it. The racquet provides a lot of base power without having to strike the ball too cleanly.
Spin: 4.7/5
The Head Gravity also provides effortless spin, especially effective for high topspin forehands and general baseline shots. It sits in the mid-range for spin in the Head range.
Control/Touch: 4.5/5
In general, this racquet has solid control and feel. It felt great around the net and for slices. If you're looking for a racquet designed for feel, I would suggest the Head Extreme.
Head Boom:
Power: 5/5
If you're looking for a racquet that is all about power, this is the best choice! Within my first few shots, I could tell it was designed for power. It's no wonder it's called the Head Boom.
Spin: 4.6/5
With so much power in the racquet, it provides sufficient spin. However, it's not designed for spin, hence not obtaining a higher spin rating.
Control/Touch: 4.3/5
In general, this racquet has the lowest control/touch rating in the Head range. It still provides decent touch and feel but lacks compared to the other Head racquets. If you're looking for a racquet designed for feel, I would suggest the Head Extreme.
Head Prestige:
Power: 4.8/5
The Head Prestige is all about precision. It has a very small sweet spot, but when you connect cleanly, it's devastating. If you like hitting flatter and through the ball, this is the racquet for you.
Spin: 4.3/5
With a smaller sweet spot, one downside is it generates less spin. However, it still generates enough, but racquets like the Head Extreme cater more to spin enthusiasts.
Control/Touch: 4.6/5
In general, a very solid racquet in terms of feel and control. If you have clean ground strokes, you will find it easy to guide the ball, especially when your shots are through the court.
